Routing, Filtering, Mapping and Database Features Enable Full Healthcare Communications Engine Functionality
Montrose, Colorado, November 3, 2004 – NeoTool announces the general availability of its latest release of its new generation healthcare integration engine – NeoIntegrate™, designed with years of healthcare interfacing insights and customer interactions. NeoIntegrate provides a clear migration path for its HL7 Accelerator customers.
NeoIntegrate includes many unique features that will assist healthcare providers and vendors in achieving greater productivity and results in developing and deploying HL7 interfaces. NeoIntegrate's launch today, includes key features that center on healthcare interface message routing, filtering, mapping, and database interactions.
Key elements of today's NeoIntegrate announcement include:
- Routing: The routing features enable an efficient workflow design and implementation between different healthcare systems. One HL7 message can be sent easily to multiple systems (e.g., lab, pharmacy, dietary, etc.).
- Mapping: When sending HL7 messages, one receiving application may use version 2.3 and another may use version 2.4. NeoIntegrate's mapping features allow one message to be transformed to meet the requirements of different, unique healthcare applications. The mapping features also productively handle custom data and Z segments with a simple point-and-click process.
- Filtering: The filtering features reduce costs by limiting the number of interfaces required to meet a healthcare application's requirements. Unnecessary messages can easily be filtered and removed from the clinical data exchange. The result is a streamlined data flow between healthcare applications.
- Database: Database reads and writes are governed by easy-to-use rules that are executed with any database through ODBC drivers. This feature provides the capability to insert and update message data into an application's database or allows the creation of HL7 messages from an application's database.
The first installation of NeoIntegrate went live at Warm Springs Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, providing 28 interfaces to systems throughout six hospitals.
