Corepoint Integration Engine will replace five legacy integration engines and empower NSHA IT staff to meet the goals of the province’s One Patient One Record patient-care initiative
July 10, 2018 – Dallas, Texas – Nova Scotia Health Authority has chosen Corepoint Health’s Corepoint Integration Engine software to provide health data interoperability throughout the Canadian province, which includes more than 45 facilities delivering primary care, community health, and acute care services to the Canadian Atlantic region.
Providing data interoperability is a core component of the Province’s One Person One Record initiative, which will move the province from multiple disparate clinical systems to a single primary system connected to multiple secondary clinical and support systems. One Person One Record is a partnership of several government departments, including Health and Wellness and Internal Services, with health-care organizations NSHA and IWK Health Centre.
NSHA’s CIO Keltie Jamieson said Corepoint Integration Engine will provide the data foundation that will help her organization meet their long-term goals.
“The Province’s One Person One Record strategy is a patient-care initiative to have the right information available to the right person, at the right time and place. Corepoint Integration Engine will help make this possible,” Jamieson said. “Our legacy solutions were not up to the task and employed a convoluted process to create a basic interface. We’re looking forward to utilizing Corepoint’s graphical approach to connecting applications as we move toward our goal.”
Mark Ralph, technical manager at NSHA, said they selected Corepoint Integration Engine because they required complete confidence in performance, uptime, and the product’s healthcare-specific functionality.
“We wanted industry-leading technology that was very scalable to help with our future plans. We were looking for a long-term partnership when we selected Corepoint. We believe Corepoint will give us the support we need and become our partner for the next 20 years. That type of relationship is perfect for our patients and the information we need to deliver in a timely and reliable manner,” said Ralph.
Phil Guy, Corepoint Health chief executive officer, said they are looking forward to collaborating with one of Canada’s premier health organizations to help their innovative team exchange data between health information systems, facilities, and various applications.
“We are inspired by the Province’s One Person One Record initiative and we look forward to working with and supporting their team as they integrate and modernize their health data environment to serve all Nova Scotians,” Guy said.
