PLANO, Texas, December 21, 2009 – Western New York Radiology Associates, a large outpatient diagnostic imaging practice in Buffalo, New York, selects Corepoint Integration Engine to efficiently orchestrate their internal workflows and external patient data flow from multiple client sites.

With an operational focus primarily on providing diagnostic readings for imaging clinics, Corepoint Integration Engine is serving as an essential platform enabling Western New York Radiology Associates to service a greater number of clients more productively.

“With the number of imaging clinics that we provided diagnostic readings for growing, it became apparent that we needed an interface engine platform we could deploy quickly—ideally plug-and-play—that could easily facilitate a high volume of data exchanges,” said Fred Lombardo, Director of Operations.

“Additionally, the interface engine needed to be flexible enough to manage the multiple data format requirements from the various applications used by referring imaging clinics. Corepoint Integration Engine met all of our criteria with its ability to configure, test and deploy new interfaces rapidly and manage them productively. The overall robust nature of Corepoint Integration Engine provided a level of confidence that was absent with our previous setup.”

Implementing Corepoint Integration Engine has significantly enhanced Western New York Radiology Associates’ IT environment by enabling them to move beyond point-to-point interfaces, eliminate manual data entry steps, and improve the reporting turnaround times for a more efficient workflow.

“Prior to adopting Corepoint Health’s interface engine solution, we operated in a cumbersome, manual environment that included dictation over the phone, which was time intensive and error-prone. This increased the overall cycle times for readings. With Corepoint Integration Engine in place we can now effectively interface directly with PACSPicture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS) are devoted to the storage, retrieval, distribution, and presentation of images. The medical images are stored in an independent format, most commonly DICOM. Synonyms: Picture Archiving Communication ... More systems,” said Lombardo.

Corepoint Health has provided Western New York Radiology Associates with an enterprise wide integration solution that has completely transformed what was a myriad of complex interfaces into an automated and efficient workflow environment.

“Corepoint Integration Engine has been the jack-of-all-trades, meeting our internal requirements of integrating RISRadiology Information System (RIS) is the main application in an imaging center or radiology department. RIS is used by to store, manipulate and distribute patient radiological data and imagery. RIS are used for patient scheduling, tracking, and imag... More/PACS/VR applications, and meeting the requirements of our imaging clients. The integration engine runs seamlessly without issue,” said Lombardo.

“We are excited that Corepoint Health has played a contributing role in helping Western NY Radiology Associates transform their workflow. We are proud to be a partner in helping them to accomplish their objectives to deliver the highest quality, efficient diagnostic imaging services to their referring clients,” said Phil Guy, CEO, Corepoint Health.
